We bought a lovely 5 year old Transit Custom Crew cab from Lakeland Vans in June 2025.

What a fantastic experience it was like buying a new vehicle from them. From the moment we met Hugo he made my wife and I feel like the most important people in Cumbria. Nothing was too much trouble and we were able to browse the whole range of vans in stock.

Once we had decided on the one we wanted the sales process was hassle free. We had regular contact and updates from Hugo between agreeing the sale and collection.

The extra mile this company goes to was second to none, you really felt like a valued customer throughout. They were able to adapt the vehicle we were buying to make it more comfortable for me to drive.They also collected the vehicle from my house the week after we'd bought it to finish off some work we had wanted to have done, but had not been possible to complete before we took ownership.

Collection day was special too with our new van parked right up front with a ribbon on it (nice little touch) looking amazing. Hugo was brilliant at hand over sorting everything out nice a smoothly and he made my whole family feel very welcome which really made the day.

I could not recommend these guys enough, very good quality vehicles, amazing customer service and really friendly staff.

They didn't rush or push the sale at all, very patient and helpful throughout the whole process.

Bought a VW transporter from Hugo and the team last week. Throughout the whole process they were extremely helpful and friendly. They were completely honest and it never felt like they were trying to sell me anything, which I've had before with other sellers - rather they were just trying to help me make decisions and advise on the best options available. After purchasing the van I noticed a minor defect with one of the back doors and they fixed this immediately no problem at all and on the house. They are also very knowledgeable about van conversions and do this as part of their business, and have given me some great advice on how I might be able to have a go converting myself. Would 100% recommend.

Well where do I start:
This will be lengthy but I will say from the outset "ALL EXTREMELY POSITIVE"
We contacted Lakeland after recommendation from a good friend after some very poor work from another company that sadly required immediate rectification. We arrived and immediately felt at ease.
The lads mob handed set about listing what was required to be reworked and explained everything to which I fully agreed. They were practical and innovative. We were promised an early booking as we were gutted from the work requiring alterations.
Three days later, all work was completed and to an extremely high standard. Frowns turned to smiles and we finally had the van how it was intended. EVERYONE was humble polite and obviously pleased at our whole experience with them. I cannot thank them enough, every step of the way was explained and we were kept up to date on everything. I have NO HESITATION in recommending them and in fact - on the result, we have already begun discussions regarding another vehicle. Conversion.
Ring them/ visit them/ talk to them, you won't regret this.

My Defender was booked in for ply lining and carpet fitting weeks ahead of my appointment as well as having windscreen fitted.
There was an initial glitch which has been very quickly solved and the rear of my defender looks fantastic. The customer service has been great quickly resolving my issue and with the wonderful touch of a card and wine for my wife"s birthday.
Very well done and particular thanks to the team returning my Defender who were great.
I can thoroughly recommend Lakeland and will happily use them again in the future.

Lee was excellent my van looks spot on took care of everything turned up to collect my van for purchase and was away with in 15 mins can't fault the Lakeland team enough for converting the van and adding loads of extras done an amazing job highly recommend them.

Well what can I say, Lakeland have really out done them selfs on my T5 and provided what I would consider a service second to none! My baby is now ready to hit the road for summer, they sourced and installed new wheels, side awning, side and rear windows, insulated / trimmed out the back and fitted new lighting in the rear, all of which is installed to an extremely high standard, I thought I'd try my luck and get them to service it while it was in the workshop, thankfully they were able to facilitate my request as well giving her a full valet and detailing before collection, she looks fantastic and like she has just come out of the showroom, many thanks guys you have really provided a top class service!
Having looked around for a while Lakeland has most defiantly provided me the best advice they could possible provide, not only taking the time to discuss my needs (wish list) and budget, they provided a very competitive cost, fantastic workmanship and excellent service a massive thanks to Lee and your team for all you have done 5 star job and service nothing is too much trouble. I'll be booking in maybe later in the year for my roll n roll bed and other bits off my list

Whilst on holiday in the area my camper van had some electrical issues at approximately 10pm, emailed Lee and he responded that same night. Lee kindly agreed to look at my van the next morning. Lee and team found the fault, fixed the issue and saved our holiday! Exceptional Service from Start to Finish!

Lakeland Campervan Interiors have carried out a complete conversion of my VW T5.1 Kombi, and transformed it from a standard van to a highly specialised and bespoke vehicle that can be used not only as my day-to-day vehicle, but also as a very practical and well equipped family campavan.

At all times the Team at Lakeland Campervan Interiors have provided great advice which is both practical and well-informed. Their workmanship is outstanding and customer service second to none. The most impressive aspect of their workmanship however is in my opinion their ability to innovate and provide 'different' solutions, ones that suit the individual customer. There is no 'one size fits all' approach to their service offer. Nothing is too much trouble and no job too small or too big.

In summary, a family run business with a highly skilled team who deal with customers as individuals and deliver a high quality service. Personally I would't go anywhere else when anything requires altering or fitting to my van. Thanks Team Lakeland Campervan Interiors!

Camper van conversion and purchase

This was my first ever dealing with Lee and the team and my first venture into a Campervan purchase! Needless to say I was nervous, as was my wife.
But....having spoken with Lee briefly on the phone to start our journey, he put me at ease and exuded confidence in what he and the team could do.
When we first met you felt like you'd known him forever, an old mate who was willing to help.
Don't get me wrong, there was a lot of money involved here but all the same, he came up trump's on everything he promised.
The camper conversion was excellent and their expertise is second to none.

I searched and searched for good conversion companies who sold on vans. I searched far and wide but not on my own doorstep. It was only by chance I came upon them and I would say they could challenge any in the country.
So, I would say to anyone who reads this and especially those who live in the North West, stop searching and give Lee and the team a call. Your search ends here and your conversion or van begins.
They are very professional, very courteous and very friendly with good after sales service.
What more can you ask for.
I'll be back for my yearly certifications and if need be upgrades to my van or even a new van!
